Verifying the small and large stability of power amplifiers is crucial before integrating the design in the final product. Renowned RF power amplifier designers state that “one should use all possible known stability analysis techniques to verify its stability”.
The aim is to study and compare available small and large signal stability techniques on multistage RF PA designs, aiming to get a good overview of the capabilities of these different methods and to determine how they can be optimally integrated in the design process. Additionally to known state-of-the-art techniques, we will also include a projection-based method which has been developed at the VUB in collaboration with INRIA, France.
