InVentiVe Interreg project
The aim of the InVentiVE project is to development a new, innovative ICU ventilator with more extensive safety features and medically relevant improvements. This project is executed by the company Demcon macawi and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel to develop an innovative ventilation system in accordance with medical regulations. Interreg Flanders-Netherlands subsidizes cross-border projects for smart, green and inclusive growth.
The Dutch firm Demcon macawi respiratory systems B.V. develops new, innovative ventilation modules that are used in medical ventilators. The modules offer ease of use, safety and cost-efficiency improvements over existing systems, so that a single intensive care ventilator can serve both very young babies and adult patients.
The Vrije Universiteit Brussel has knowledge of the development of innovative measuring methods for better ventilation therapies. Their Force Oscillation Technique (FOT) based algorithms have a large added value in a wide range of ventilation therapies.
Both parties contribute complementary knowledge and expertise. The Demcon macawi respiratory ventilation module offers a unique platform to implement and test new ventilation therapies. For Demcon macawi respiratory systems, the added value of this functionality is that the measurements give more knowledge and insight in relevant applications in hospital and home use.
